In desperate need of rain
|It has been months since we had any decent rain. We may get a sudden downpour (once) but then no rain and 30+ degree heat for the days following, or it looks promising, and then we just get a few drops. It is rather sad watching the plants slowly wither, and it is hard to know whether to water them or not, as we are restricted by not being on town water, which means, all our water comes from rain… and if there is no rain… I think that constitutes a Catch 22 situation. We are however using our precious water on our vegetables and in our now miss-named bird baths, because we figure the birds are in need of water as well… but each evening, it has not just been the rosellas and wrens coming in for a drink, we have had a surprise visitor enjoying the water, and it seems to be the perfect height.
